Mr. Willig is one of the world-wide leaders in Business Continuity Risk Assessment, Strategic Design of Industrial Control Systems, Safety systems Design, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Classification Studies, Facilitating and team leading of HAZOP / HAZID / FMECA / IPF & SIL, Technical Audits for Process / Mechanical / Instrumentation & Power Systems, Training services for plant operation personnel.

Mr. Willig is active in the Oil &Gas Upstream, Midstream, Downstream, Petrochemicals and water projects since 1994 and have delivered several consulting &training services around the world including many references in Middle East & Africa.

Mr. Willig project roles are principal consultant, senior management adviser risk assessment, IEC61508 safety classification facilitator, risk assessment team leader and project manager. After several years as a Commissioned Officer Special Services with the Royal Netherlands Navy then began a long association with various divisions of Shell. Positions included process control engineer at Deutsche Shell Raffinerie Harburg, Germany; development engineer, instrumentation & process control at Shell International Petroleum Company’s Central Office; section head, Internal Instrumentation Department, at Shell Nederland Chemie.

Mr. Willig has demonstrated experience for HIPPS designs as from 1996 for SIL-3, SIL-4 and SIL-4+ (SIL-5 VHIPPS) for critical and strategic major asset protections, typically for Upstream deployment (onshore, offshore, (gas/ oil) transport pipelines). He has a track record of more than 98 SIL Safety-related projects, of which more than 67 are Upstream.
